These services are often a complement to surgery, helping to prepare the skin for surgery or to enhance and prolong the results achieved in the operating room.

Skin care consultations and evaluations are performed by a licensed aesthetician to determine which combination of procedures and skin care products may best meet patient needs. Services offered include: laser hair removal, laser photofacials, laser vein treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, facials, and permanent make up application.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing

For patients who can not afford the down time associated with operating room lasers, The Platinental Aesthetic Lounge offers non ablative laser treatments which can improve skin tone and allow a quick recovery. The laser penetrates beneath the skin surface to the dermis where it heats the tissue and initiates a healing process that forms new, healthy tissue. This results in a fresher and more youthful skin tone. The skin may have a pink tone for about a week but generally patients can return to work and other activities without any recovery time. A series of treatments at 3-6 week intervals is usually required to achieve the desired result. Treatments can be directed to most areas of the body including face, chest, arms and hands.

Laser Photofacials (Frac3)

Sun and the natural aging process cause cumulative damage to the skin leading to imperfections such as sunspots, rosacea, and spider veins. Laser photofacials can be an effective way to treat these conditions with the added benefit of no down time. The laser emits light which is absorbed by the pigment in sunspots and blood vessels. The light gets converted to heat which then dissolves the pigmented cells and shrinks the blood vessels. After a series of treatments, there will be a clearing of discoloration, rosacea and vessels, creating a more smooth and even appearance to the skin. Typical Frac3 treatment areas include the face, arms, chest, back and legs.

Laser Hair Removal

Our on-site lasers can permanently reduce or remove unwanted hair which is problematic for both men and women. The laser beam targets the pigment in the hair follicle without damage to the surrounding skin. It can be used on small areas such as chin or upper lip, larger areas like an underarm or bikini region, or even sizable surfaces such as a leg or back. The duration of your individual treatment will depend on the area being treated and typically several sessions are necessary to capture a large portion of the hair follicles at various growth stages. The treatment can be associated with a slight stinging sensation but you may return to work and other daily activities immediately following a treatment.

Chemical Peels

Our chemical peels remove the superficial layers of skin leaving fresh, renewed skin not yet damaged by the sun. The process also stimulates the skin to produce new collagen for smoother skin texture. In this manner, a chemical peel can improve fine lines and skin discoloration caused by the sun. They can also be useful to control acne. Paces offers several types of chemical peels and our aesthetician will evaluate your skin to determine which type is best for you. There may be a period of redness and flaking skin for a few days after your peel, and our aestheticians can recommend skin care products and make up to use immediately after your peel as well as long term to maintain results.

Facials

Our 60 minute facials are designed to invigorate your skin in a calm, relaxed setting. By working on the skin's surface, a facial can slough old skin cells and superficial debris and restore skin glow. There is no associated down time and facials can be safely used on all skin colors and types. Our aesthetician will examine your skin to determine which type of facial will yield the best individual results.

Massage

A soothing massage can rejuvenate the senses and reinvigorate the body by stimulating circulation and relaxing muscle tension. A massage can also be therapeutic after liposuction to promote lymphatic drainage and thereby reduce postoperative swelling. Sessions can be scheduled for 60 or 90 minutes and will leave you feeling calm and refreshed.
